Roses and wildflower honey... can you smell it already? Not only does this scrub smell wonderful, it will exfoliate and cleanse your skin while adding a youthful glow! I use a local raw honey. Raw honey is antibacterial and full of antioxidants. It's a moisturizer and anti-aging. Known to unclog pores, prevent acne, tighten skin, and even skin tone. I support my local bee keepers here in Naples and buy my raw honey directly from them! Rose oil has been used for health and beauty for thousands of years. It is purported to hydrate dry skin, clear acne, reduce signs of aging, minimize the appearance of scars, and help with conditions such as eczema and rosacea.
I love sugar scrubs because they are more gentle and more hydrating than salt scrubs. The smaller, rounder granules are even gentle enough for your face! Sugar is a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the environment into the skin. Therefore it helps hydrate your skin and keep moisture within. I craft my sugar scrubs with organic minimally processed sugar and apricot oil. I use apricot oil because it is less greasy feeling and it is full of omega fatty acids and vitamins to nourish your skin! Apricot seed oil contains gamma linoleic acid that is useful to firm and tone your skin. It also has Vitamin A and E which soothe and slow down the aging process.
